Last tuesday we went to the Amsterdam Arena where normally soccer games are held. But sometimes it is used for BIG concerts. This time it was George Michael.The Arena can contain 50.000 fans and because of that the whole ring A10 was full with cars. But since I work in the neighborhood I know my way around it and even found a parking spot very near to the Arena. We missed the supporting act but that didn’t matter. George wasn’t in any hurry whatsoever so after almost 2 hours he started with a very beautiful song originally from Tim Buckley’s but I knew it from This Mortal Coil, “Song to the Siren” . And then the party started YEAAAHHHHH !!!!!. His voice SO GOOD. But sometimes the sound quality of the Arena was very disturbing. Than something happened that I never experienced before…. he had a 20 minute break. A big screen with the text, I’ll be back in 20:00 minutes, counting down. But after that the party went on again.
